I’ve checked off a few things from the Fall Bucket List…
1. Create a new fall wreath, using this one (Pinterest – no photo credit available) as inspiration.
I decided to add an “S” I already had made instead of fabric.
3. Create a candle/box table centerpiece (Pinterest – no photo credit).
I couldn’t find a box (sorry, Amanda!) so it will have to be a build. Next year. Instead I used a fish platter, and I actually like the white against my dark table.
12. A drive to the mountains to see some pretty aspen fall leaves.
I posted this one already – Kenosha Pass
15. Update some table frames with some fall photos.
I updated one frame so far – a pic from our trip to DC in the fall with our oldest and my journalism students. I have two mirrors to hang above this table that will be going up today – so exciting!
16. Decorate the porch and mantle.
Those are fake flowers in the pots. I don’t pretend I can care for outside flowers, especially when we’ve already had snow.
I will be painting the one in the crate chevron.
The boys enjoyed making “pumpkin towers” when I brought out the fall decorations – 30 min of fun.
23. Pumpkin Better Than Sex Cake by Healthy Cooking Recipes 101.
Somehow I lost the photo of this one. This cake was good, but not one of my favorites because of the sweetened condensed milk.

24. Melt-in-your-mouth Pumpkin Cookies by Parent Pretty.
These were pretty good. I used the frosting in the recipe, but my cousin used a cream cheese frosting from All Recipes that she said worked well and she made them into sandwich cookies.
We also tried the White Chocolate Pumpkin Spice Cookies from Just a Pinch Recipes.
I think the boys preferred these cookies because of the white chocolate chips.
26. Cheddar and Hard Cider Fondue from Food Network.
This was definitely a yummy fall treat! Even the boys liked it, and dipped their rotisserie chicken in it.
29. Create a Thankful Tree using the tutorial from Rachel Cooke.
This is the start. We will add some “I’m thankful for” tags to hang on it in November.
30. Try a new beef stew, Parker’s Beef Stew from Barefoot Contessa.
This was tasty, but it was a lot of work (that Hubby did). I’m more of a dump-it-in-a-crockpot gal. This one definitely needs to be paired with a nice glass of red, not a pregnant lady’s version of wine (shown).
More fall fun to come!

Whew–you've been having lots of fall fun! Everything looks great! I was surprised I couldn't find some type of centerpiece box at one of the craft stores, either, but I agree, the white platter is a nice contrast with the dark table. Love the front porch décor too. I should stick with fake flowers, as evidenced by the pots of half-dead mums on my porch. 🙂

Thank you! I was surprised, too! I feel like I've seen them before…but maybe just builds on DIY sites. If you haven't found one, I will make you one next fall when I do mine. I've been seeing mums everyone and second-guessing not trying them, but I'm glad I didn't. Haha.
