I’ve never been a big NYE party person, but the kids are getting older so we thought they would like some noise blowers (we may have been a little delirious with that one) and poppers and my sister was coming over so that was a good excuse for NYE decor.
We got a few things at Party City, but I was pleased with how much Christmas and birthday decor can double as NYE! Like the “happy” from a “Happy Birthday” banner and some gold dot Christmas ribbon.
I have a silver version of the “Happy Birthday” banner as well so that become mantle decor. And I used the gold sequin fabric and gold coiled rope from my daughter’s first birthday party.
The silver mercury bulbs were from my Christmas centerpiece and I used a hurricane (on sale at Target after Halloween) to hold the photo props and put a tiara at the bottom for some bling.
The photo booth props make great decor!
My hubby made a delicious spread: roasted shrimp cocktail, stuffed mushrooms, pineapple shrimp, brie, coconut macaroons, and an Italian cocktail.
The photo booth props were a hit! I got those on Jane last year. We were casual and used our iPhones so lighting/quality isn’t perfect.
The kids loved the blowers and poppers, of course.
And my daughter appreciated the hats.
Even if she didn’t always wear them correctly.
Although I’m not really big on setting New Year’s resolutions, I do like to think about the fresh start and how I could improve. It’s a long list, but better organization to help with our family routines is at the top. Anyone with me?
Here’s to some fun organization and DIY projects in 2016!
