It’s likely no coincidence that Mother’s Day and Teacher Appreciation Week fall in the same week, right? This year I worked on joint Teacher Appreciation Week and Mother’s Day gifts with a bit of a different twist. They are both great gift ideas for the teachers, moms and grandmas in your life!
I posted last week about my Teacher Appreciation succulent bowl gift ideas…
They turned out so cute, and my kids’ teachers loved them!
I liked the bowls for teacher gifts, but then I found this cute #1 Mom mug at Home Goods so I had to get it for my mom, too.
Love the script font!
Succulents are so easy to plant, and so much easier to keep alive than regular plants. If you haven’t planted succulents before, you can find the tutorial here.
I ended up using just a little more rocks (on the bottom) and soil for the mugs. And if you want the “Thank you for helping me grow” you can get it here.
These would be great gifts ideas for grandmas as well.
And like I said with the succulent bowls, even if the succulents eventually die (although I’m sure they won’t ;)), at least they will still have the fun mug!
If you like this idea, please pin it!
Do you have any plans for Mother’s Day? I’m trying to figure out the balance between what I would like to do and what we are realistically and capable of doing with young kids. It’s quite the struggle sometimes, right?!
I know that Mother’s Day can be a tough day for a lot of people…you may be grieving your mom or child, or wanting to be a mom. Mother’s Day definitely isn’t easy and I’m sending you hugs!
To the beautiful messiness of motherhood…Happy Mother’s Day to all!
