Had to share all of the creative jars the MOPS ladies did as a follow-up to my Holiday Candle Jars post. Today was our silent auction as well, but we decided to work on a craft to fill in the time.
Here is the creating-the-jars table, after it was picked over. One side for fall and the other side for Christmas including leaves, tissue paper, tree and snowflake cut-outs, votives, jars, and Christmas paper.
Then there was the ribbon station to decorate the jar rims.
A few people had the patience to do the leaves jars. It’s tough to get them to stick! One person had luck mod podging the jar and letting it dry a little so it was a little more tacky, then mod podging the back of the leaf. Another person hot glued them. Most everyone else pressed on the leaves and they eventually stuck, but it was a challenge at times.
There were some great leaves jars!
This was a creative idea: mod podging the leaves and then she planned to put them around the jar under a ribbon. I didn’t get to see the finished product, but I’m sure it was cute! Will have to update with a photo later.
I wasn’t able to get a photo, but another creative idea was using the jars as Thanksgiving place cards. She hot glued some leaves to each jar and then she plans to tie a ribbon around it with the person’s name. She put a votive at the top of each jar, and they looked great. Maybe I can update with a photo for this one, too.
For the Christmas jars, several went with the tissue paper option. Love the red!
This one was cute with the red and white tissue paper stripes and the tree inside the tree outline.
This one has a “belt” of tissue paper around it so the pretty glass design on top would still show, but it also allows space for more light to show through.
There were lots of cute holiday designs.
And cute bows.
I liked how this one filled the jar with overlapping designs.
I loved seeing all these creative options with this craft, and wish I had thought of some of them when I created mine!
