My kids are obsessed with Halloween decor, so I’m always looking for the cute-not-scary type and this little marquee pumpkin at Michaels was perfect. I have a thing for marquees.
It’s the new Heidi Swapp Marquee Love collection, and it’s not just for Halloween, there are letters, hearts, arrows, stars (my location was a little picked over)…The kit comes with the 3D shape and string lights and then you choose your design with washi tape, paint, paper, glitter, whatever you want. There were so many fun options – I will admit I stood in the aisle contemplating for a bit.
I’m loving her thicker washi tape and used it to spruce up my pantry shelves (more on that soon). My little guy loved working on the glitter. My problem, though (I think), was that I used the glitter glue I had and it didn’t work very well. Too many white spots, so I should have used the Marquee Love glue or painted it orange before adding the glitter. OR used the glitter paper. But I fixed it by painting the stencil paper and putting it on top. Next time I know. Then I added the washi tape on either side. Despite my glitter mishap, it was pretty easy. Next time I will to try the paper to stencil. We put it in the kitchen so the kids can see it while they are eating at the island. My son suggested we add the white and gray pumpkin. What do you think? I haven’t decided which I prefer.
