Are you ready for Halloween? It seems crazy it’s already here! I’ve got my decor up, but I need to crank out costumes. I bought one so that’s easy, and I have the supplies for the other two – I just need to finish them. Anyone else procrastinating? My five year old decided he’s going to make his shark costume (works for me!), but I’m a little nervous about my daughter’s because she’s a picky 2 year old and wanted to be a PINK (caps because she literally yells it) Little Mermaid and even had a particular shade in mind, so wish me luck with that!
If it weren’t for my kids, I probably wouldn’t even decorate for Halloween, but they love it so much that I feel like I have to indulge. And I have to admit, it’s pretty fun. So if you’re looking for some easy ways to make your home a little more festive this weekend, here are few ideas. 🙂
I don’t have much space to work with on our mantle so I went simplistic this year. Pulled out the paper spider webs from last year, and I bought the felt balls from The Felt Cottage at Pinners. I did make the banner, and it’s so easy! The tutorial will be over at Lolly Jane soon.
These little guys used to be white and silver, so I just painted over with black.
I added a lot of decor in the kitchen because the kids primarily sit at the island so that’s where I get the most bang for my buck, and they love it.
Since I’m a serial decor tweaker, I did another tray option, too. Don’t judge.
This spiderweb runner is currently 70% off at Michaels!
I love my new Heidi Swapp Lightbox, and the kids love it, too!
I made the pinwheels with cupcake liners.
And these are my fave, the itty bitty pumpkins from Home Goods.
The dining room is a bit of the same, just a few additions.
We will be decorating more outside with the kids this weekend and going all out (well, I guess that’s subjective), because that’s part of our tradition, but here it is currently. I had purple and orange mums and they all died in our crazy heat, so had to improvise. I think the dying tree on the right really adds to the Halloween ambiance though, don’t you think?
Bought some gauze at Michaels yesterday (did I mention 70% off?!) to make these stack-o-mummy pumpkins. These are the half pumpkins, which I love. Those are also on sale!
I used last year’s mantle decor to make this wreath, as well as that little spider the kids made during our Halloween crafting a few weeks ago. They love it when I use their crafts.
