Hello! I haven’t posted in awhile because I had some health stuff over the summer (will save that story for another day!), but I’m feeling better now and can’t believe that it’s FALL! It’s still pretty warm in SoCal, but I’ve fallified my living room with some cozy decor anyway. It’s my “soft launch” before I add some Halloween and Thanksgiving decor. Read on to see the full tour!
I always start with my shelves and chose a color scheme. We went to some model homes in San Juan Capistrano recently and I was inspired by a house with yellow and gray decor – isn’t yellow perfect for fall? I used yellow and blue in the summer so it was an easy transition to add in some white pumpkins and yellow floral.
In this space I used all of last year’s decor except some new yellow floral that I got at Hobby Lobby.
I recently made that “hello” wreath and “my humans” sign at the Queen Bee Craft Night (So fun! If you’re a SoCal local, you have to check it out) with the Lolly Jane ladies.
The rest is “vintage”. I made the “hello fall” magnolia pumpkin last year, and it even doubles as Thanksgiving decor with a “give thanks” on the back. I recently painted that gray cabinet and will be posting a before/after soon.
I used this pillow in the summer and decided to keep it out for fall because that’s what every season is all about, right?
I just got that table from my grandparents and I’m excited to repaint it – I might do a similar color since I like the yellow. Because it’s old I’m worried about lead issues when sanding. Any advice for that?
I also got this magnolia wreath at Hobby Lobby for 40 percent off!
It complements the wreath on the other side near my stairway.
That wood frame is from my dear friend’s shop Clean Slate Designs.
I print fall photos every year and then store them with my fall decor – love having these memories from over the years. What is it about fall photos? They are just so fun!
If you’re ever in doubt with fall decor, just add a bunch of pumpkins! You can never go wrong.
I’m ready to cozy up for fall with some hot tea and sweater weather (eventually)! And a book, if I’m lucky.
