Merry late Christmas! I intended to do some DIY Christmas decor posts…Oops. It was our first Christmas here so it took me a little longer to decorate. At any rate, here’s this year’s Christmas decor roundup including some DIY and tablescapes with both china and paper at the end of the post. Cast your vote on which one is prettier!
Bunting and adhesive burlap letters/snowflakes are from the Target Dollar Spot.
I debated fresh/fake greens for the garland. Fake won since it lasts longer. I got the ribbon to make the bows at Home Goods.
The tree star was a DIY made out of a paper towel roll, ribbon, a cardboard ornament, some fake berries and sprigs, and glitter.
Loved this string art from Blossoming Burlap!
I made the plaid tree with styrofoam, hot glue, and a cloth napkin from Home Goods.
A Home Goods cloth placemat is inside the frame.
Vintage Crate and Barrel.
My little guy wasn’t feeling well. 🙁
This pillow used to say “believe” – I cut and hot glued a cloth napkin and used a stencil to paint the “joy”.
The “Merry Cozy” sign is from Whipperberry – I loved that it says “Estd. 2015” (our first year in this home).
I added plaid ribbon to everything this year. I may have a problem. Another cloth napkin DIY – I hot glued the sides of a pillow with red burlap ribbon and then hot glued a cloth napkin on the front and back. Easy peasy, but it did take a lot of hot glue.
I love, love, love mercury glass and use it wherever I can.
Trader Joe’s centerpiece wreaths and ribbon from Home Goods.
I made the frame with (you guessed it) a cloth napkin and adhesive burlap snowflake from the Dollar Spot.
Cloth napkin again and a cut-out from the Michael’s Dollar Spot.
The hot chocolate bar was a big hit! Most of it is from Target Dollar Spot.
Loved using the truck as a napkin holder.
I can’t take credit for this card display idea, I saw it on Martha Stewart’s Instagram. So fun!
The kiddos got their own tree upstairs. We raided Michaels and they made most of the ornaments.
Some powder room Christmas cheer.
Yes, I need to put some pictures in that frame. Ha!
Some subtle Christmas touches in the guest room and bath.
I went more neutral in the dining room.
I thought hanging bulbs on the chandelier would be an easy little project. Not so. Took forever to balance it, but I did love it. And isn’t it nice that you can see the reflection of me in my pink sweatpants taking photos? Hehe.
I had two tablescapes this year because we had two dinners – one with my fam and one with the in-laws. I couldn’t wash two china settings in one week so I opted for mostly paper on one, but I tried to dress it up at least. The “chargers” are paper as well.
Now I’m gearing up to pack it all away. But at least I can do it by room so it will be easier next year.
Happy New Year’s week!

So many pretty details!! Love all of the uses you came up with for the cloth napkins/placemats. I’ve never thought of putting things away by rooms for easier decorating next year…smart!
