Oh, hey! I’m Debby. I’ve been interested in decorating interiors since I DIY’d my first Barbie house.
While I was growing up, my parents were into DIY (with a macrame business on the side) so our home was often in the middle of revision, and that’s when I got the make-your-home-your-own bug.
After doing marketing and then several years of English/journalism teaching, I married my hubby in 2005 , had two boys, and we were enjoying life in SoCal. I later started blogging (formerly Time to DIY) and SAHM life after we moved to Denver in 2012, and had a baby girl.
During that time our family was hit with some health issues (miscarriage, autoimmune disease, and cancer) so projects and blogging often took a back seat for months.
But God always has a purpose and uses challenges for good. It was through that journey that our eyes were opened to how food and toxins affect our health, which forever changed us.
Lifestyle changes aren’t always easy, and for us it was a slow, step-by-step process, but after seeing the the positive changes of more natural living (like actually feeling better!), we will never go back.
In 2015, we moved back home to Southern California, bought a new house, and have been making it our own, one project at a time, ever since.
In 2018, I changed the blog name to Pretty Healthy House to integrate both design and natural living.
If I’m not designing something or reading about healthy stuff, I’m likely drinking tea or wine (I know, that’s why I chose pretty healthy house), hanging out with my family, or taking pictures, preferably  somewhere near the water.
Whether you’re looking for some room design and decor inspiration, or some simple ways to make your house pretty healthy, you’re in the right place! Take a look around and let me know what you think. 🙂
