Neutral Gray Thanksgiving Tablescape

The Thanksgiving countdown is on! I always work on my tablescape in advance (or weekend before) so it’s done. This year I challenged myself to use and repurpose what I already had so that’s why I went with a neutral theme – I’ve got lots of gray and white decor around here. I worked on giving my old stuff new life with a little paint as well as scraping the bottom of the barrel in my craft room, haha. Read on to see how I pulled it all together!

I always start with my centerpiece, and I used last year’s as a starting point, but added in some magnolia leaves from an old wreath. I also painted some faux mini pumpkins white and gold – some were orange and green, and others were yellowed and needed some fresh paint. I got my pumpkins at Hobby Lobby, but there are similar white pumpkins (already painted, yay!) on Amazon.

Did you spy the Christmas tree? This year I’ve got a couple trees up – it’s the first time I’ve put them up early and I’m loving it! This one is a pencil tree that works well in the tight dining room space. It’s neutral with the white lights and why can’t we combine a little Christmas with Thanksgiving, right? I’m thankful for Jesus’ birth! I’m loving the gradual transition into Christmas, especially since it’s always a mad dash to get it all up in the midst of shopping, wrapping, and Christmas activities.

Then I just pulled together what I already had on hand. I had one table cloth that I used last Easter with subtle polka dots.

I’ve had those place mats forever, and I bought the white Nantucket plates from World Market last year and they’ve held up so well.

I got the gold stemless wine glasses last year and still love them as well. The only downside is that they have to be hand washed. The gold flatware is also from World Market. Perfect for adding some sophisticated gold accents.

The place cards were the trickiest – I kept it simple with some ribbon and scrapbook paper. The letters were precut from Target Dollar Spot – I just hot glued them to the scrapbook paper and hole punched the card. And luckily I had enough little pumpkins. We have a lot of the same initials in our family so I used some middle name initials for some. It will be a fun game to figure out their seat, haha.
