So excited for everything summer, are you? I’ve been pulling out my blue and yellow summer decor and it makes me all kinds of happy. A wreath is my go-to for seasonal decor so sharing an easy DIY idea for this week’s Simple Seasonal Saturday’s post. By the way, so sorry I missed last week’s post! It just didn’t happen with end of school activities and company. I’m so looking forward to some summer downtime!

You don’t need many supplies for this one!
Supplies
- 12-inch Straw Wreath
- Faux Flowers – Hobby Lobby or Michaels (just discovered some faux flowers on Amazon too)
- Fabric Ribbon – I got mine at Michaels
- Cord and lace ribbon scraps (Michaels or Hobby Lobby)
- Glue Gun
The first step is to hot glue and wrap the ribbon around the wreath.
Isn’t that indigo ribbon perfect for summer?!
Then arrange the flowers and hot glue. There isn’t a rule for flower placement, but when in doubt, I like to use five flowers – two sets of pairs to put on either side of a bigger flower in the middle.
You can hot glue a hanging hook on the back or add bow to hang. For the bow, I tie it on the Command hook first, and then tie it in a bow.
But when I finished I felt like it was missing something…so I added some cord.
The cord made it look a little more summery and nautical, do you think?
I was going to put it on our front door, but decided I liked it on the interior side instead.
My next step is to revamp this entryway. It’s not technically an entryway so it’s a little tricky. I like the gallery wall, but it definitely needs a refresh (or major overhaul) and I’m looking at ideas for a faux table or shelf here. I might need to change things up to make that happen.
