I had a list of two for my daughter’s one year shoot: 1) outdoor location and 2) with a chair. After doing her newborn and six month photos in her nursery, I was excited to change it up, and my photographer had a great location. It was a little risky (Colorado in December), but it ended up being a beautiful day!
I had to figure out the outfit before chair color. I went with a Baby Gap navy dress and coat that was a birthday from her GiGi and Grandpa. Gold dots on the dress meant gold accessories, yay! Of course Hobby Lobby was my first stop to make a bow, and then I found these cute tulle pom shoes and some snowflake ornaments. I wasn’t sure how I would use those, but I grabbed them just in case.
My friend saved the day and went to various consignment furniture stores and found this gem. She even bargained them down to three dollars because it was slightly damaged. And since I was using spray paint I already had, this was the best deal ever.
I just gave it some wood glue and TLC before spraying it.
Since I was just using this chair for the shoot, I didn’t care what type of spray paint I used and grabbed this from the garage. I think the previous owners left it.
All ready for the shoot!
That is Sarah from SB Photography working her magic. She is the best!
Loved the chair for this location.
And here are all of Sarah’s amazing photos…
We threw in some of the snowflakes and pine cones.
Sarah came up with this great tub idea and did this one in her studio. So cute!
I am going to use some of these tub ones for decor in the kids’ bathroom. And I am still in love with the gold chair so it may need a bit more reinforcing so it can go in her new room!
