I feel weird posting this because it’s not DIY (April Fool’s!), but sometimes that’s the way it goes. Let me explain…
My plan is to eventually rotate parties because our kids have December and January birthdays, but no one got a party last year because we had a newborn, so what did that mean this year? Joint party for the boys! Except that one birthday is Dec. 27 (we tried that one year – don’t recommend) and my other son’s birthday was when we were doing an out-of-state move. Eek.
House party was out of the question, and my youngest son is obsessed with sea life, so naturally the Aquarium was top pick.
Now, I’m all about a “make it your own” DIY party, but, I have to say, the Aquarium party was pretty cool. They took them on a guided tour to start, and our guide was incredible. Somehow she memorized 20 kids names in three minutes and kept them all engaged. And just about the time you would think it’s going to get dicey with the kids, they escorted us to a fun zone with gigantic sea creatures to climb and run wild on. It was a dream. Even Sharkey stopped by for a visit.
They provided the food, cake, and decor, which was hard for me to let go of doing, but my kitchen and craft room were packed, so that would have been crazy for me to do, right?! They did an awesome job and the kids had a lot of fun. And it was special to be with all of their classmates and friends one last time before we moved to CA.
Well, at least almost everyone enjoyed it. 😉
Such a fun night!
