I got the idea on Pinterest (I didn’t link it because it was a picture post on Baby Center that no longer exists) to have a child finger paint a frame mat. We used crayons and stamps for our Picasso fun.
I picked up these frames at Michael’s for 50 percent off.
Wrote the boys’ names and the year on the mat, and then let them run wild with the crayons.
To mix it up, we added some stamps. That was big fun.
We used a card the boys had given Grandpa for his birthday for the picture slot.
He wanted to take a picture with the finished product. He was very proud of his work.
And then I had a brainstorm: why not color on a wooden plaque? So I painted it.
And then more color fun. He kept calling it a graduation hat. ?
Then I mod podged.
Put the photo on, and mod podged over it.
We made a few others, too.
This one is for my husband’s aunt. We took the photo in front of her shed that the boys loved. Made for a great background.
Thanks for stopping by Day 4 of the 12 Days of Homemade Holiday Gifts series!
